Find information on campus facilities and services available to alumni, such as gym and library privileges, career services, the St. John's Maryland license plate, tuition benefits, and more!
As a St. John’s alum, you may enjoy continued access to several benefits within the community.
St. John's campuses in Annapolis and Santa Fe are open to the public. During your campus visit, you are welcome to access the coffee shop, bookstore, library, gym, and administrative and academic buildings open to the public during regular business hours.
Friday Night Lectures are free and open to the public.
The Mitchell Art Museum on the Annapolis campus is reopened and is free and open to the public.
The Admissions Office is always happy to host alumni on a tour of campus; you can schedule a tour led by a current student by reaching out to admissions(at)sjc.edu.
If you would like to arrange to observe a class during your next visit to campus, you can reach out to the Dean’s Office in Annapolis at Dean’s.Office(at)sjc.edu or in Santa Fe at SantaFe.DeansOffice(at)sjc.edu to see what opportunities may be available during your visit.
We know that alumni enjoy the opportunity to visit the nostalgic spaces of their past and spend time in conversation with current students, and the college highly values the environment that results when students and alumni from different backgrounds come together to discuss the ideas and ideals that are the cornerstone of a St. John’s education. However, the college expects that you will exercise care for the students who now call St. John's their home by respecting that certain spaces you were once welcome to access are exclusively for the private use of our student communities.
As such, alumni of the college are not permitted to enter any residential hall, residential common room, attend any non-public student event, or access the student-run Cave in Santa Fe. Alumni can attend school-sponsored traditional student events only when registered with public safety as a guest of a current student.
Feel free to contact the Alumni Office if you are planning a visit to campus and want to meet with any of our staff or have questions about your visit.
The Alumni Relations Office offers in-person and virtual seminars with St. John's tutors each year. Stay tuned for 2024 seminar opportunities!
Graduate Institute (GI) alumni are invited to return to campus each semester for Campus Convening Weekend, which brings GI alumni together with current GI low-residency and in-person students. These weekends always include a seminar component led by GI faculty. Please get in touch with the GI offices for more information (Annapolis—Kashya Boretsky, Graduate Student Services Coordinator: kaboretsky(at)sjc.edu; Santa Fe—Michael Foote, Graduate Program Administrator: michael.foote(at)sjc.edu.)
Finally, the college offers a year-long program of in-person and virtual seminars through Summer Classics, Winter Classics, and Year of Classics. Classics seminars are lively and in-depth conversations on enduring works that span fiction and nonfiction, math and science, poetry and philosophy, as well as visual, cinematic, and performing arts.

Yes, we're happy to help you reconnect with fellow alumni! We have two online resources for connecting with Johnnies:
If you’re unable to find an alum in either database, contact the Alumni Office! While we don't share private contact information without express permission from our alumni, we can reach out on your behalf to try to facilitate your reconnection.
We have a very active alumni community, and, while we encourage non-college-initiated events, we do not promote them—that includes the use of our mailing list, which is not available for non-college events.
However, we want your event to be successful, so we recommend the following platform where you can create and share your own post to our alumni community:
SJC Connect: A networking platform managed by St. John’s College staff
Additionally, St. John’s has several alumni-specific social networking channels. If you tag the college in a post you make on your own profile, we may sometimes like, share, or even repost it to our pages:
The Graduate Institute in Annapolis and Santa Fe welcome GI alumni to convene on campus once during each spring and fall semester alongside current in-person and low-residency graduate students, and GI faculty.
For current students completing the low-residency degree, attendance at two such weekends (or studying for at least one semester on campus) is required, but Campus Convening Weekends are envisioned as events for the entire Graduate Institute community. Activities both academic and social are open to all and are planned to help GIs get to know one another as a community of learners.
Events generally include a reception dinner, the Friday Night Lecture, a seminar led by GI faculty, a campus tour, and plenty of opportunities for socializing with fellow GIs.
The Alumni Office’s primary function is as a connector to the many opportunities available to alumni at the college, from attending lectures and classics program seminars, to auditing Graduate Institute classes and returning for on-campus events. We curate and communicate your Alumni Benefits. We also help alumni maintain their connections with each other and can help you get in contact with someone from your class with whom you’ve lost touch. We particularly enjoy helping you find ways to share your wisdom and expertise with current or prospective students through volunteer opportunities that support Admissions, Student Life, Career Development, and the Office of Personal and Professional Development.
The Alumni Office is responsible for organizing annual alumni events, producing an annual alumni magazine and bimonthly alumni newsletters, recruiting and stewarding alumni volunteers for the college, helping support new graduates as they transition into alumni life, and aiding the Advancement Office in reaching their giving goals.
You are always welcome to reach out to our office with your questions and concerns. If you’re not sure who might be the best person to connect with, you can always reach us at alumni(at)sjc.edu.
